Hello everyone, Johannes here!
Today I want to share my personal experiences with fasting and GLP-1 with you. I have fasted many times in my life, including therapeutic fasting with water and tea. I’ve now been taking the weight loss injection for some time and have realized that the differences between the two methods are enormous. I was surprised myself at how different weight loss with GLP-1 feels – and that is exactly what I want to talk about today.
Fasting: Hunger and the mental challenge
Anyone who has fasted before might recognize this: after two or three days, the hunger disappears, and you get a so-called "fasting high." This means you feel energized even though you’re not eating. Still, fasting was always a mental challenge for me. My mind was constantly revolving around food – either about what I wanted to eat or about the fact that I had to keep going.
“I wasn’t hungry, but my mind was full of thoughts about food – or about not eating.”
GLP-1: No hunger, no mental chatter
With GLP-1, it’s completely different. I hardly think about food anymore – neither about eating nor about not eating. It’s as if I simply forget about it. That is one of the biggest advantages for me. Of course, I have to consciously make sure I get enough nutrients, but that constant mental struggle is completely gone. I can focus on other things without my brain constantly circling around the topic of food.
More energy without side effects
Another big difference: when fasting, I often felt sluggish, I was cold, and I felt like my circulation wasn’t really getting going anymore. With GLP-1, it’s quite the opposite. I have just as much energy as before, I’m not cold, and my body feels completely normal. I didn’t expect that!
“My body feels just like it did before – only with less hunger. No freezing, no sluggishness.”
Control without deprivation
What really excites me is the feeling of control. When fasting, I constantly had to hold out and be disciplined. With GLP-1, this mental effort just falls away. I eat more consciously, but not because I have to force myself, but because my body simply demands less. That gives me a sense of freedom I didn’t know before.
My conclusion
Both methods have their pros and cons, but for me personally, GLP-1 is clearly the more sustainable and pleasant solution. I feel fit, don’t have to struggle, and can finally go through life without constant mental chatter.
I’m curious to see if any of you have had similar experiences! Feel free to write to me in the comments.
Until next time,
Your Johannes 😊
